It’s kind of funny how people can read you without you telling them a thing about yourself. The other day, I was offered some food and the person offering it to me said that he didn’t get me desert because I didn’t look like the type of person who would enjoy it. 

Oh the holidays! If it wasn’t for alcohol, there would be a lot more family drama and fights (this is not proven, but it is my theory). Regardless, sometimes all you need is a strong Cosmo and not in a Sex and the City kind of way.

Since skulls represent death, my mom, being superstitious as she is, always disallowed me to have it as jewelry or on my clothing. It’s probably the reason why I’m so obsessed with them now. I saw this cake mold and decided to get it after this post. 

Everyone has some sort of comfort food and for me it’s borscht. I grew up in Kazakhstan, a country with some Russian influence, so it’s no wonder that I love this soup. Now, every recipe is a little different and there is no one recipe that I followed.

Fall is an awesome season for exactly 2 reasons: 1) holidays like Halloween and my birthday (yes, it’s a holiday because it tends to fall on Columbus day most of the time) and 2) soups. As a child, I hated soups and I mean, I HATED them.
