Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, 2015 is coming to a close. I know I've been saying it quite a bit in the last couple of days but most tend to reflect back on the year they had and reminisce. I wasn't quite sure how I'd like to look back, but then I tried to remember what happened each month since January. Not the entire month, just highlights of each and it's been pretty damn awesome. So here are my highlights of two thousand and fifteen:
January: Friendships are built on a solid foundation of alcohol, sarcasm, inappropriateness and shenanigans. On January 7 (I'm fairly sure), I met my friend Francois and later his girlfriend Melanie. I invited them to my favorite bar, Pravda, and I told them that no good story ever starts with "I had a good salad." And thus began our lifelong friendship.
February: I decided to do the unthinkable and take the California bar exam. What was I thinking? Oh yeah, that we would go to California in February and have a mini vacation as evidence here.
March: With our new found friendship with Frankie and Mel, we decided to go skiing/boarding in Vermont. This was the Frenchies first time in Vermont and they were SHOCKED at a) how dirty New Jersey was (L.O.L.) and b) that it took us close to 7 hours to get there (you guys, America is very big).
April: My childhood friend since I was 7 or so got married and gave birth to a baby girl! B and I decided visit her and bonus perk, she was in Miami. It was still like 30-40 degrees in NYC, so that was a no brainer.
May: My mom has a country house where she has a little garden. She needed some man and woman power to plant her seedlings. Francois and I were recruited evidenced by our handiwork below. Also, I finally got my driver's license!
June: I have a very extended family and when I was told that my cousins would be visiting me, I was ecstatic.
July: Not only is my honey's birthday is this month, but 2 of my closest cousins AND it's July 4th - 'Merica! The best highlight from here was just going to the beach and relaxing.
September: This is when I decided to hit reset on this blog and actually make it a continuous occurrence, not just sporadic posts. As you can see, I've been fairly consistent and I hope you're enjoying it so far.
October: My Birthday! Halloween! Fall! YAY!
November: I gave thanks with my first ever Friendsgiving. Although we had couple of hiccups along the way, the overall result was great.
December: Unfortunately, this month had ended on a sad note. After 13 years with B's family and almost 9 years in my life, our beloved Sophie went to heaven, as all dogs do. After we buried her, we were reminiscing about how I would always sneak her food during our holiday dinners and would get yelled at by either B or his brother. I know that she went where she can chase all the squirrels in the world and feel no pain. We love you forever!
In my final note for 2015, I wish you all the best in 2016. I hope the new year will bring you happiness and joy above anything else. Happy New Year!
